How Our Founder Kieran Fell in Love with the Audio Post Production Industry and Built Full English Post in Brooklyn

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! We’re all about love today, and what better way to celebrate than by sharing the story of how our founder, Kieran, fell head over heels for the audio post-production world—and how that passion helped him build Full English Post, a thriving business based in Brooklyn.

How It All Started: A Love for Sound

For Kieran, the spark for audio post-production wasn’t an instant love affair. It grew over time. Early in his career, he stumbled upon the power of sound and how it could change the way people experienced stories. Whether it’s a film, TV show, or commercial, Kieran realized that good sound design, careful mixing, and perfect recording can take a project to the next level.

It wasn’t long before Kieran found himself working on major projects for Apple TV, Netflix, Sony, and more. But it wasn’t just about working with big names—it was about making an impact through sound. Every project became an opportunity to help shape the story, adding emotion, tension, or excitement through carefully crafted audio.

At Full English, we’re driven by the belief that audio post-production isn't just about technical skills; it’s about making the audience feel something. Whether it's the subtle hum of background noise or the punch of a gunshot, we focus on creating sounds that stick with people. And that’s why we love working with creative agencies and filmmakers who understand the importance of high-quality sound in their projects.

Why Brooklyn? Why DUMBO?

Kieran didn’t just want to create another studio—he wanted to build something with heart. When Full English was just starting out, Kieran worked from a small co-working space in Brooklyn, embracing the “size doesn’t matter” mentality. Even with limited resources, he proved that with dedication and creativity, you could turn any small space into something special.

Fast-forward to today, and Full English Post has settled in DUMBO, a neighborhood known for its creative energy and slightly more affordable real estate. It’s not just about the location—it’s the vibe. DUMBO has a unique edge that attracts a variety of creatives. From artists to filmmakers to musicians, there’s a sense of hustle and possibility here that mirrors what we’re all about.

Our clients love the vibe too. It’s a place where big ideas come to life. With more space, fewer distractions, and tons of creative energy flowing through the neighborhood, it’s the perfect backdrop for the work we do.

Our Services: Recording, Mixing, Sound Design

At Full English Post, we specialize in the three pillars of audio post-production: recording, mixing, and sound design. Our goal is simple: to give your project the best possible sound experience. From ADR to foley to VO, we’ve got the tools and expertise to get it right.

One thing our clients love? Our voice-over suites. We’ve created a space that’s perfect for recording crystal-clear, professional audio—whether you’re working on a commercial or a long-form project. And don’t even get us started on our mixing process. We thrive on turning a bunch of separate elements into a harmonious soundscape that pulls the audience into your story.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. An Example of Our Work

One recent project we’re particularly proud of that reflects everything we’ve talked about is our work on Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. It’s a perfect example of how we combine creativity, technical expertise, and passion to elevate a project to new heights.

When Blackscreen Productions reached out to us to work on the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree trailer, we were pumped. This wasn’t just another project—it was a high-stakes opportunity to bring to life something fans had been eagerly awaiting, and we knew we had to nail it.

The first step? Sound design. We immersed ourselves in creating a world that felt alive and immersive. In one of the key scenes, a flying car lands, and we carefully blended otherworldly, ethereal sounds with grounded, mechanical noises to ensure the futuristic vibe felt real. The sword sounds? We didn’t just want them to cut through the action, we wanted them to punch—literally. Each strike was layered meticulously to create a dynamic, hard-hitting effect that resonated with the intensity of the scene.

Next came the mixing. This is where we really get to play with the balance. Every sound—dialogue, music, effects—had to work together to tell the story. We weren’t just cranking up the volume; we were creating moments of suspense, crafting silences that built tension, and ensuring each element had its moment to shine.

It’s exactly this type of work that sets us apart and makes Full English the go-to studio for creative agencies and filmmakers who want to elevate their audio to match the caliber of their visuals.

From Small Beginnings to Big Projects

From those early days working out of a Brooklyn co-working space, Full English Post has grown into a trusted name in audio post-production. We’ve worked on all three seasons of Wicked City, which Kieran says was a pivotal project for the business. More recently, we had the pleasure of providing ADR services for Before, an Apple TV series starring Rosie Perez.

Each project is a chance for us to grow, learn, and, most importantly, create great work. We’ve come a long way, but our core values have remained the same: focus on sound, stay dedicated, and always put the story first.
